Hawaii & Tourism

March 14, 2009 by Pepperdine Graphic

THE POINT BREAK SURF SHOP HAS BEEN OWNED AND OPERATED FOR THE PAST 13 YEARS BY HAWAIIAN TONI BLANCHARD. LOCALS AND TOURISTS ALIKE COME TO RENT AND BUY TOOLS TO SURF THE PACIFIC OCEAN. BECAUSE OF THE NATIONS ECONOMY BUSINESS HAS BEEN ROUGH.

TOURISM IS DOWN THAT MEANS LESS MONEY FOR THE STATES REVENUE. TO GET PEOPLE TO SPEND BUSINESSES HAVE TO LOWER THEIR PRICES.

LIKE OTHER LOCAL SHOP OWNERS BLANCHARD IS MAKING AS MANY BUDGET CUTS AS SHE CAN JUST SO SHE CAN KEEP HER LIVELIHOOD.

IN THE MEAN TIME THERE ARE GREAT DEALS ON AIRFARE AND HOTELS TO THE ALOHA STATE….AND WHILE YOU’RE THERE YOU CAN PICK UP A SURFBOARD FOR A LITTLE CHEAPER THAN USUAL.
