Joe Millionaire gives Zora the ring, money

“Joe Millionaire” viewers got a surprise Monday night when Evan Marriott chose to give Zora Andrich the diamond ring and the victory over all the other contestants.

Evan & Zora found love, $1M along the way.But Marriott and Andrich got an even bigger surprise when the show’s butler, claiming “all good fairy tales must have a bit of magic,” gave the couple a million-dollar check.

Monday’s final episode and its “shocking twist” brought to a close what Fox has called “television’s biggest con,” and what viewers proved to be a true rating-grabber. This is due partly to the suspenseful nature of the show itself and partly to the scandal its members have brought to the media.

Since the show’s first airing, photos of Marriott posing in skimpy underwear have emerged on the Internet, and candidate Sarah was exposed for starring in movies such as “Hogtied” and “Dirty Soled Dolls,” a foot-fetish film.

Doors drummer sues former bandmates

John Densmore wants hisJohn Densmore, former drummer for the Doors, has filed a lawsuit against his former bandmates for touring under the name “The Doors.” Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger recruited Ian Astbury to sing and Stewart Copeland (formerly of the Police) to play drums and have been touring as the Doors for some time.

“The Doors are Jim, John, Ray and Robby,” Densmore said. “I don’t care if they call themselves ‘former members of the Doors,’ ‘the Hinges’ or ‘the Windows.’ I just want clarity.”

The group recently changed its name to “The Doors 21st Century” in an effort to appease Densmore, but the former drummer isn’t satisfied, stating that the change isn’t noticeable enough in promo materials.

Tickets are currently on sale at the Smothers Theatre Box Office and are $6 for Pepperdine students and $10 for everyone else. For information, call (310) 506-7610.

The Multicultural Theatre Project has become a mainstay at Seaver College and is responsible for adding to the campus’ discussion of diversity.

Guns n’ Roses rebuilds sans Axl

Sebastian Bach frontman of the "new" Guns N' Roses?Former Guns n’ Roses rockers Slash, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan are attempting to form a band. They’ve already taken on Dave Kushner as a guitarist and are currently holding auditions for a singer in Los Angeles.

The band put out hundreds of ads reading, “Unnamed artist looking for singer-songwriter somewhere in the realm of early Alice Cooper/Steve Tyler, the harder-edged side of McCartney and Lennon.”

More than 500 singers responded to the ads with audition tapes. The band has  auditioned 15.

Rumors say the job may go to Sebastian Bach, fomer Skid Row frontman.
