Osbournes commit to two more seasons

Sharon Osbourne told Barbara Walters in an interview that her MTV hit “The Osbournes” was over.

“We can’t do it anymore…10 shows and I’m out,” Osbourne said. Her colon cancer, plus the stress from producing the show is too much for her, she added.

Later Osbourne said in another statement, the show will continue for two more seasons.

“I have every intention of fulfilling our commitment to MTV for a full 20 episodes,” Osbourne said. “I love my MTV.”

To the public these two statements may seem confusing, but to MTV Presdient Van Toffler, they merely illustrate Osbourne’s personality.

“Sharon Osbourne is an uncontrollable and volatile entity, which is one reason why her family is so entertaining,” Toffler said.

Barbie’s taking on  yet another pop face

Pop star Shakira signed a contract with Mattel to create her own Barbie doll similar to those in stores of other stars such as Brittany Spears and ‘N Sync.

This new doll is not all this singer has up her sleeve. She begins her “Tour of the Mongoose” which consists of North America and 30 other countries tomorrow in San Diego.

“Finally this rocker is going to have its opportunity to come out when it’s on the stage,” Shakira said.

50 Cent may have cost Run-DMC DJ his life

Jason Mizell, known to the rapper world as Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay was shot and killed last week in his recording studio by two intruders.

Police now believe that his death may be due to his ties with rising rapper 50 Cent who frequently ridicules “gangsta rap.” Apparently, Jam Master Jay was a beloved friend and mentor of 50 Cent.

“One of the theories is that somebody was trying to get back at 50 cent by taking out Mizell,” police said.

Since the shooting, 50 Cent has had several threats on his life, police said. 50 Cent has not commented on  the killing or the threats.

‘The Santa Claus 2’ tops the box office

Tim Allen’s sequel came out Friday accumulating approximately $29 million in sales, beating the first “Santa Claus” movie by nearly $10 million.

This came to a surprise to many considering it has been almost eight years since the first movie was released and many years since Allen’s hit sitcom “Home Improvement.”

Second place was the horror flick “The Ring,” starring Naomi Watts. Third was “I Spy” which brought in a disappointing $14 million. Finally, “Jackass the Movie” made fourth place dropping 43 percent from last week with $13.1 million.
