On June 10, 2011, Pepperdine University and the city of Malibu welcomed the USS John Paul Jones, an impressive guided missile destroyer to the Malibu Pier. The arrival marked the beginning of Malibu Navy Days, a historical celebration honoring the soldiers who serve the United States and the life in our Malibu community.
The USS John Paul Jones is a member of the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet. In a release about the event, President Andrew K. Benton wrote, “Pepperdine University is proud to show its unwavering support to the servicemen and servicewomen of the USS John Paul Jones.”
