DPS REPORTS

    INCIDENT

  • Sat. July 24 at 9:54 a.m. Tyler Campus CenterGas Leak | A staff member reported smelling an odor of natural gas. Facilities Management & Planning responded and repaired a piece of kitchen equipment that was the source of the leak.
  • Fri. July 30 at 12:08 p.m. Tyler Campus CenterVandalism | A staff member reported that the gate lock to the Jamba Juice bar was broken and there was possible signs of a forced entry.
  • Sun. July 25 at 1:22 p.m. Hall UpsilonFlooding | Public Safety responded to a report of flooding outside of a dorm. Facilites Management & Planning shut off the water until the broken pipe could be located.
  • Wed. July 28 at 6:02 a.m. School of LawFlooding | A construction company flooded a carpet area while draining a fire sprinkler system. No damage was reported.
  • Wed. July 28 at 1:16 p.m. Keck Science CenterPetty Theft | Public Safety contacted two students regarding their lost wallets. Upon both students inspecting their property they stated that money was missing.
  • Thurs. July 29 at 4:18 p.m. Tyler Campus CenterA staff member reported that items had been moved in his or her office and the door had been found ajar when he or she returned to work. No items were reported stolen.
  • Fri. July 30 at 10:51 a.m. Tyler Campus CenterA staff member reported a fire sprinkler head leaking. No property damage was reported.
    WELFARE CHECK

  • Wed. July 28 at 9:21 a.m. Chaparral CircleA concerned family member was unable to reach a professor that lives on campus. Public Safety officers responded to the residence and contacted the professor without incident.
    LOUD NOISE

  • Sat. July 31 at 07:53 a.m. Malibu Country EstatesPublic Safety received a noise complaint from a Malibu Country Estate resident. Public Safety officers responded but were unable to detect any noise. No further incidents were reported.
    LOST & FOUND

  • Lost | Keys Brass key
  • Found | Sleeping bag parking permits and medicine
    FIRE ALARMS

  • Sun. July 25 at 10:38 p.m. Rockwell TowersCause | Excessive smoke from food burning in a microwave
  • Tues. July 27 at 12:57 p.m. Rockwell TowersCause | Excessive smoke from food burning in a microwave
  • Wed. July 28 at 12:57 p.m. Drescher Student ApartmentsCause | Water leaking into a fire alarm module caused the alarm to activate. A technician responded and repaired the alarm.
  • Thurs. July 29 at 9:44 a.m. Seaver Apartments – A BlockCause | Excessive steam from a nearby bathroom
  • Thurs. July 29 at 10:0 a.m. Drescher Graduate CampusCause | Excessive smoke from food burning on a stove top
  • Fri. July 30 at 6:04 p.m. Drescher Student ApartmentsCause | A smoke detector was dirty and needed to be replaced.
  • Sat. July 31 at 5:20 p.m. Seaver Apartments – A BlockCause | Dust from nearby construction caused the alarm to activate. The contractor failed to cover the smoke detectors properly before working in the area.
