Pre-Game: The Firestone Fieldhouse is packed for tonight’s game against the Gonzaga Bulldogs. There are plenty of scouts and NBA GMs (including Pat Reily) in the house to see the No.-9 Zags play here in Malibu. Lakers’ great Kobe Bryant is also schdueled to appear sometime for the game. No doubt they are watching a few Bulldogs including freshman sensation Elias Harris. One scout told me he is watching Keion Bell as have plenty throughtout the season.
The student section is loud tonight end of story. Everyone is available tonight for the Waves. Same with Gonzaga. The Bulldogs could essentially close out the WCC regular season title race with tonights win in Malibu.
Two changes….Vice Chancellor of Atheltics Sam Lagana is MC-ing tonights game and junior F/C Dennis Agre will start for the first time this season. Lagana’s booming voice which is usually heard during Midnight Madness might provide some excitement for the crowd.
