I read with great interest Keith Cantú’s Letter from the Editor in the Oct. 29 issue of the Graphic on discovering faith’s common ground. We applaud Keith for bringing to light one of the central joys of the academic experience: learning through discovery.
In building a library to serve our students we are mindful of how important it is to offer the core literature one expects to find in a library on a top notch university campus. We are also conscious of how important it is to offer the unexpected— materials that are discovered serendipitously and which provide pathways for exploration and discovery.
To enrich this experience we have added more than 14000 new volumes to the collection in all subject areas during the past three years. Like Keith we too invite readers to do a little digging through the Payson stacks or the stacks of any one of our satellite campus libraries. We think you will be surprised at what you find.Mark S.
