Though college students everywhere may be mourning the end of summer, the one benefit is with fall comes a group of new TV shows. After watching endless ads all summer long, we’ll finally be able to find out if any of the shows are as promising as they look (or if they were just as stupid as the commercials made them seem).
“666 Park Avenue”
This ABC drama follows the residents, new co-managers and owners of a possessed Manhattan building complex. The series comes from the producers of “Gossip Girl” and “The Vampire Diaries” and features familiar faces Vanessa Williams (“Desperate Housewives”) and Robert Buckley (“One Tree Hill”).
Premieres on Channel 7 Sunday, Sept. 30 at 10 p.m.
“Nashville”
Starring Hayden Panettiere (“Heroes”), this new ABC musical drama centers on Rayna James, a legendary country superstar, and Juliette Barnes, a promising up-and-coming musician (Panettiere). In order to revive James’ struggling career, her producers suggest a tour with Barnes. The show follows their competitive and complicated relationship.
Premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 10 p.m.
“Malibu Country”
This new comedy produced by and starring Reba McEntire follows the journey of character Reba Gallagher, who leaves her cheating husband and moves with her family from Nashville to Malibu in an attempt to revive her music career.
Premieres on ABC Friday, Nov. 2 at 8:30 p.m.
“Partners”
This CBS comedy follows lifelong friends and business partners, Louis and Joe, at an architectural firm. This show gives viewers an entertaining look into the characters’ attempts to maintain their tight friendship while being involved in romantic entanglements.
Premieres on channel 2 Monday, Sept. 24 at 8:30 p.m.
“Vegas”
This drama, set in the 1960s, follows mobster Vincent Savino and his dealings with a cowboy-turned-sheriff, Ralph Lamb, played by Dennis Quaid in this new CBS show.
Premieres Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m.
“Made in Jersey”
This new legal drama follows a Jersey-born lawyer, Martina Garretti, as she deals with her colorful family and the judgments of her elite New York City colleagues.
Premieres on CBS Friday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m.
“Arrow”
This CW action series is based on the comic book superhero Green Arrow. Billionaire Oliver Queen is believed to be dead after being shipwrecked for the past five years. When he comes home and faces the struggles of returning to society, he creates a vigilante alter-ego, committed to serving justice and protecting the city.
Premieres Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m on channel 5.
“Beauty and the Beast”
This series is a reboot of a 1980s series by the same name. It stars “Smallville’s” Kristin Kreuk as a tough detective with a tragic past. The show explores her interactions with Vincent Keller, a doctor with a dangerous alter-ego.
Premieres on Channel 5 Thursday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m.
“Emily Owens, M.D.”
This CW medical drama set in Denver follows awkward first-year intern Emily Owens. Things become even more awkward when she finds that her high school enemy and her crush from medical school work with her as well. The series follows her attempts to navigate these relationships from her past in her adult, professional life.
Premieres Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 9 p.m.
“The Mob Doctor”
Fox’s latest drama follows Dr. Grace Devlin, a talented surgeon in Chicago who finds out her family is indebted to the mob. As a result, she is forced to become a doctor for the mafia while still juggling her full-time career as a surgeon.

“Ben and Kate”
This upcoming comedy centers around a brother, Ben, who moves in with his sister Kate in order to help her raise her daughter Maddie. The siblings are completely opposite, and each will come to learn from the other in surprising ways.

“The Mindy Project”
This new comedy features Mindy Kaling from NBC’s hit comedy “The Office” in her first starring role. The series follows Kaling’s character, Dr. Mindy Lahiri, as she deals with plenty of ups and downs in her career and in her personal life. Since the comedy is produced by many who worked on “The Office,” it’s definitely worth a look from fans of the series.

“Go On”
This NBC comedy stars Matthew Perry of “Friends” as Ryan King, a cheeky sportscaster forced to attend group therapy after the passing of his wife.

“The New Normal”
This comedy follows a gay couple who look to a surrogate in order to have a baby. They hire single mom Goldie, whose outspoken mother follows Goldie to her new home in Los Angeles. The complicated relationships between quirky characters promise to provide plenty of laughs.

“Revolution”
This science-fiction drama explores what would happen if the world were to lose power, showcasing how an entire society was forced to adapt. The show specifically follows the Matheson family, who may possess the power to bring electricity back.
