Led by sophomore Paul Carroll’s 27 kills and four aces, the Pepperdine men’s volleyball team jumpstarted Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play with a 3-1  (26-30, 30-18, 31-29, 30-25) win over USC on Friday at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Senior John Parfitt recorded 17.5 points with 15 kills and five blocks while senior Tom Hulse tallied 10.5 points with a team-high seven blocks for the Waves.

Pepperdine will wrap up its four-match homestand next weekend when it hosts conference foes UC San Diego and Long Beach State. Thursday’s match against the Tritons is scheduled for 7 p.m., as is Friday’s contest against the 49ers. Both matches will take place at Firestone Fieldhouse.
