L.A. protests likely rigged

April 6, 2006 by Pepperdine Graphic

One immigration law theory would have a worker entering the country illegally but never becoming a ward of the state. That worker should not be allowed the same quality of health care that legal citizens are offered, and his children shall not be educated. Their rights shall not be respected. It is a matter of survival and those who happen to survive could be described best as immigrant Darwinian survivalists. Those that don’t, only go to serve the nation’s desire to signal to all other “huddled masses yearning to breathe free” that these borders are closed.

This standard should not be adopted by the United States, but it is a practice being employed by a “friendly country” that has the gall to apply such draconian methods to its immigration problem and has the nerve to abuse and otherwise discard their illegal immigrants. It is a country that violates basic human rights, unleashing gang violence to rob, rape and otherwise prey upon those desperate to find better lives for themselves. With unabashed hypocrisy – this application to illegal immigration has been adopted by none other than Mexico.

So with speechless awe I watched half a million Latinos enter the streets of downtown Los Angeles chanting “Viva Mexico.” Indeed, long live Mexico, a country that supports the enslavement of Guatemalan and El Salvadorian illegals, while at the same time lobbying the United States to open the borders to the north.

While I was watching half a million Latino high school students protest at City Hall March 27, I began to wonder how they became so organized. How was it that high school students, spanning 21 schools across the Los Angeles Unified School district, came together at the same time and place? This level of organization, timing and coordination was astonishing. Then it dawned on me.

This was fixed. This was rigged. This protest was the insidious organization of a small group of liberals bent on repealing the immigration laws and granting amnesty to the illegals in this country. But for what purpose? The short answer is paternalism.

For generations, the liberal left has taken a paternalistic approach to the various minorities groups in this country. Originally, the Irish Americans were subjected to the political machinations of the New England liberals. Next, the black community fell under the paternalism of the left. Is it any surprise that until recently, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People executive governors were liberal, white New Yorkers? Now, as more and more blacks find comfort in the self-determining Republican Party, liberals have shifted their focus to the next group of minorities with the hope of acting as a Great White Father of the Latino community.

With the sole goal of relegating the Latino community to unionized, service industry jobs, the liberal left hopes to reconstitute a crumbling power base. For those watching, look for the common buzz words employed by liberals to paint Republicans as hateful towards minorities. Words such as racist, bigotry, unfairness, and my favorite, Nazism, are commonly used in the Democrats game of wedge politics. By dividing, they hope to conquer. While this tactic has been effective in the past, it provides little to no hope for Latino’s in the future.

The Democrats would have us believe that Mexico is a key player in the immigration problem, working diligently as a partner with the United States, but beware of the bed fellows you make.

The United States probably does not really want to be aligned with a country that practices brutality toward its own immigrants. The Democrats obviously believe that the price of such an association is a reasonable cost to the reconstruction project of their cracked base. If they didn’t think that, then they would not have orchestrated this bizarre “Viva Mexico” demonstration.

Admittedly, the immigration problem is complex. Republicans must assume the leadership role that will insure the security of the United States while respecting the spirit of immigration upon which this great country was founded.
