Pepperdine’s Women of Color put on their second annual Women of Color Fashion show Saturday night in the Waves Cafe. The event began around 7:30 p.m. and was considered by most to be a huge success.
Women of Color’s mission is to help guide young women of all colors discover their own identity in an ever-changing world under God by raising awareness of the many challenges women face and conquering those obstacles with unification by way of service projects and outreach events.
The theme of the night was appropriately called “Wish Upon a Star,” as all ticket proceeds went to support the Make a Wish Foundation, a foundation that grants wishes to terminally ill children. Tonight at the fashion show, one girl, whose wish was to be a model, had her wish granted and joined the models on the runway.
Featured designers of the night’s event included Emigee Couture, Aji by Amanda Christine, Merci Belle, Crave Girl, Sacred Heart Collections, Shanna Gall, & Roni Burks.
Pepperdine students Rmani Crawford and Jamye Grant provided entertainment in between designer displays, singing and reading poetry respectively.
A video of the night’s events will be available shortly.
