Malibu Patch reported a 30-hour water shutdown that will begin on Tuesday night as a part of an LA County Waterworks project.

The project aims to upgrade its primary water supply interconnection with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD), the water wholesaler for the Malibu area.

The second shut down is scheduled for Jan. 23 it will also be about 30 hours long. A third shutdown is set for three hours on Jan. 29. The final, 24-hour long shutdown is scheduled for the end of February.

During these shutdowns, residents should not see any interruption in service as the district will be relying on water stored in tanks and supplies from emergency connections to meet water demands.
