After a long 40 years of Pepperdine Athletic facilities holding small crowds and satisfactory venues, the Campus Coastal Commission has unanimously accepted Pepperdine’s Campus Life Project, putting the Waves one step closer to a new athletic home.
The desperate need for new facilities goes beyond the desire of better looking stadiums; these upgrades are necessary in the needs to meet NCAA standards and in order to meet recreational and intramural standards for students. The upgrades include new state-of-the art lighting, a larger stadium to hold spectators, enlargement of the soccer field and new and improved intramural facilities.
Although a lengthy process, Pepperdine as whole is bound to prosper from the improvements anticipated. Waves athletics are in need of new and upgraded facilities in order to get the most out of their collegiate careers as well as provide exceptional locations that will bring the community of Malibu, families, staff and students closer to the action of Division I athletics.
