Pepperdine’s Department of Public Safety is conducting a “joint emergency training drill” on the Malibu campus Wednesday and Thursday, according to a press release.

This year’s two-day training exercise marks the tenth year that DPS has partnered with law enforcement and fire agencies as an ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of students, faculty and staff.  The Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Secret Service among other agencies will participate.

“These drills are an important part of our ongoing efforts to identify and implement new strategies to respond to emergency situations. Pepperdine was honored to have these agencies host their training at our Malibu campus facilities,” wrote Ali Taghavi, Pepperdine’s director of communications.

Access to the Center for Communication and Business and the Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) building at the Drescher Graduate Campus will be prohibited on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Helicopter landings on Alumni Park and periodic nose disturbances are expected during the duration of the training.
