Students aren’t the only people at Pepperdine with great fashion sense. Once a month we will now be featuring teacher/staff fashion that we love! For our first post we have Journalism professor Elizabeth Smith and Office Manager at the Career Center Stephanie Farley to discuss their personal fashion sense, who they think are the best faculty male and female dressers, and more!
Elizabeth Smith- Journalism Professor
How would you describe your fashion sense?
I would describe my fashion sense as an evolving treasure hunt. If I am wearing something cute… I probably got a great deal on it (I NEVER pay full-price). My fashion sense aspires to be the love-child of JCrew and Anthropologie.
Who is your fashion icon?
My fashion idol is Diane Von Furstenburg (designer). Her dresses are timeless! My fashion idol is Gwen Stefani (celebrity). I would never have the courage to wear most of her wardrobe, but she is fearless and always looks amazing.
Which female and male faculty/staff do you think have the best style?
I pick all the male faculty members in Seaver College and the School of Law who wear bow ties. You can’t go wrong when you’re sporting the bow tie. Gentlemen, if nothing else, remember the bow tie.
Is your fashion at school similar to your weekend fashion?
My fashion is different at home and work. In the evenings and on the weekends, I am much more bohemian… I love items that flow and drape well, which is helpful when chasing after a toddler.
Stephanie Farley- Office Manager at the Career Center
How would you describe your fashion sense?
I would describe my fashion as Classic, simple, and laidback.
What is your favorite trend?
Lace. I have to stop myself from buying too many Lace dresses.
Who is your fashion icon?
I like Sienna Miller’s style…so cute!
Is your fashion at school similar to your weekend fashion?
My fashion is pretty similar because it is more economical to get the most money out of my wardrobe but at home a lot of my activities are beach related so when I’m not at work I am quite casual and usually wearing beach ready attire.
