Opinion: The Graphic Predicts the 2024 NFL Season (Week 9)

We are officially halfway through the 2024 NFL season. The Minnesota Vikings are fumbling and the Kansas City Chiefs remain unbeaten after nine weeks of play.

The once undefeated squad is on a two-game loss streak following a 20-30 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. This game saw the return of wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, two stars the Rams desperately missed, and their record reflected it.

Both stars made immediate impacts upon their return, as Kupp caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford, Nacua rushed for 106 yards and Stafford passed for 279 yards with four touchdowns, according to the NFL.

In Detroit, the Lions dismantled the Tennessee Titans in a 52-14 blowout. The Lions picked up their fifth-straight win, good for a 6-1 overall record and first in the NFC North.

In one of their highest-scoring games in franchise history, quarterback Jared Goff threw for three touchdowns, wide receiver Kalif Raymond secured a 90-yard punt return touchdown, and cornerback Khalil Dorsey‘s 72-yard kickoff return set up yet another touchdown as the team recorded six touchdowns.

Only two teams have had a punt return of 90 yards or more and a kickoff return of 70 yards or more in a game since 1941, but after that win, Detroit added its name to the list, according to ESPN.

Enough of the recaps, let’s take a moment to look at the updated standings:

Gabrielle – 79 points

Hunter and Shane – 78 points

Nick – 77 points

Amanda – 76 points

Tony – 74 points
