Traffic Related – Hit And Run, Non-Injury Accident

Location: Facilities Services

Summary: A staff member witnessed a student in a vehicle collide with a parked vehicle and flee the scene of the incident without leaving their contact information. Moderate damage was reported.

9/14/15 8:17 p.m.

Crimes – Larceny/Theft – Grand Theft Auto

Location: Via De Casa Road

Summary: Public Safety officers and LA County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Drescher graduate campus condominiums to investigate a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered on campus.

Parking Related – Vehicle Relocation

Location: School of Law Student Lot

Summary: Two illegally parked vehicles in the School of Law parking lot were relocated to legal spaces at the upper Eddy D. Field Stadium parking lot by Malibu Tow. One unregistered vehicle was wheel locked for identification purposes.

Location: Payson Library

Summary: A staff member reported a concern regarding the awkward behavior of an alumnus.

Crimes – Larceny/Theft – Theft from Building, Burglary

Location: Center for Communication and Business

Summary: A desktop computer was stolen from a classroom.

Incidents – Suspicious Circumstances

Location: Tyler Campus Center

Summary: A staff member reported discovering several office doors open during non-business hours. Public Safety officers responded and conducted a building check; nothing was reported missing.

Parking Related – Wheel-Lock

Location: Seaver Drive

Summary: An unregistered, illegally parked vehicle with multiple unpaid parking citations was wheel-locked for identification purposes.

Location: Off-Campus Location

Summary: A student expressed safety concerns regarding their personal information being forwarded to a third party from a person not affiliated with Pepperdine. Perceived threats were received after the matter was reported.

Parking Related – Wheel-Lock

Location: Seaver Drive

Summary: A vehicle with excessive citations and repeated violations of university parking regulations was wheel-locked. The student was admonished that their on-campus driving privileges could be suspended if they continue to fail to adhere to university parking regulations.

Fire/Hazards – Gas Leak, Outside

Location: Phillips House

Summary: There was a report of an odor of natural gas outside of a building. Public Safety officers and Facilities Services responded. The cause was determined to be a defective pressure regulator. Facilities Services remained on scene for immediate repairs.

9/17/15 9:18 p.m.

Fire/Hazards – Gas Leak, Outside

Location: Drescher Student Housing Apartments

Summary: There was a report of an odor of natural gas outside of a building. Public Safety officers and Facilities Services responded. Facilities Services determined that the odor was not a natural gas leak.

9/17/15 10:42 p.m.

Incidents – Suspicious Person

Location: Upper Dorm Road

Summary: Public Safety officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. The officer spoke with witnesses but could not locate the individual in question.

9/19/15 1:44 a.m.

Crimes – Alcohol Related – Public Intoxication – Unable To Exercise Care

Location: Lower Dorm Road

Summary: Public Safety officers responded to investigate a report of a student under the influence of alcohol. LA County paramedics responded. The student was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Incidents – Suspicious Person

Location: Alumni Park

Summary: A Public Safety officer responded to a report of a suspicious person. The officer spoke with witnesses but could not locate the individual in question.

9/19/15 10:43 p.m.

Incidents – Suspicious Person

Location: Upsilon Lot

Summary: A Public Safety officer responded to a report of a suspicious person. The officer made contact with the individual and verified that the person in question is a current student.

9/20/15 2:03 p.m.

Incidents – Suspicious Circumstances

Location: George Page Residential Complex

Summary: A staff member reported discovering an empty alcoholic beverage container in a trash can.

9/20/15 6:21 p.m.

Traffic Related – Hit And Run, Non-Injury Accident

Location: Main Lot

Summary: A student returned to their vehicle and noticed new damage. The responsible party left no contact information at the scene. Moderate damage was reported.
