Incidents – Suspicious 

Circumstances

Location: Encino Campus

Summary: A staff member reported a verbal exchange between two students. One student implicated another student of vandalizing a car by scratching the paint with a key.

 

1/13/14 7:41 p.m.

Traffic Related – Traffic Enforcement – Reckless Driving

Location: Huntsinger Circle

Summary: A student reported a vehicle driving unsafely, nearly hitting a pedestrian.

 

1/15/14 5:00 p.m.

Crimes – Trespassing

Location: Seaver Drive Booth

Summary: There was a report of a suspicious person. The individual had no affiliation with the university or official business on campus. A Public Safety officer warned the person for trespassing on private property and escorted him/her off campus.

 

1/15/14 5:45 p.m.

Traffic Related – Traffic Accident, Non-Injury

Location: RAC

Summary: A contractor injured  his or her hand while soldering pipe. A Public Safety officer responded and offered first aid.

 

1/16/14 9:06 a.m.

Crimes – Vandalism

Location: Huntsinger Circle

Summary: A staff member reported discovering white liquid on their pick-up truck, which was possibly the result of a prank. The substance was able to be washed off without damaging the vehicle.

 

1/17/14 1:14 a.m.

Incidents – Heat and Smoke Alarms

Location: George Page

Residential Complex

Summary: Public Safety dispatch received a fire alarm smoke detector activation. A resident reported that plastic melted in a pot and caught fire, which they immediately extinguished. The LA County fire department response was canceled.

 

1/17/14 1:36 p.m.

Crimes – Fraud – Possession of False or Illegal ID

Location: HAWC

Summary: A staff member reported a student attempting to use another student’s meal plan without authorization.

 

1/17/14 11:14 p.m.

Departmental – Found Property

Location: Elkins

Summary: A found camera was turned in to Public Safety.

 

1/18/14 11:03 a.m.

Service Calls – Animal Call – Dog

Location: Main Lot

Summary: A university staff member observed an unattended dog in a vehicle. A Public Safety officer responded and was able to make contact with the vehicle’s owner with no further incident.
