Students meet Pepperdine at the annual CultureFest and ClubFair

The 5th annual CultureFest and ClubFair, sponsored by Intercultural Affairs and the Inter-Club Council, provided students with a chance to learn more about the ethnicities and various clubs that represent the Pepperdine community. On Wednesday in Joslyn Plaza.

Visitors were able to explore some of the lesser known cultural organizations and clubs on campus, including the Latino Students Association, Filipino Club and the Cultural Italian American Organization.

“It’s been an amazing event allowing us to express ourselves and really just share all that we have with people who we may not have been able to contact before,” said junior Joshua Gray, presidentof the  Black Student Association.

In addition to the various cultural associations present, a wide range of student clubs were on hand to invite visitors to join or attend their upcoming events.

The Hammock Club enticed visitors with upcoming camping trips and a movie night, the Microfinance Club explained their humanitarian efforts and the SCUBA Club helped visitors learn how to become certified scuba divers.

Live music, including a Mariachi band and a Hawaiian singer, helped to create an upbeat atmosphere, and an eclectic offering of cultural cuisines kept attendees nourished as they explored the many unique offerings on hand.

The CultureFest and ClubFair successfully provided a little bit of everything that the Pepperdine community has to offer.
