Applications for the City of Malibu Student Intern Program for the 2015-2016 academic year close on Sept. 11. All high school, undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply.

The City of Malibu Student Intern Program gives students experience with the inner-workings of local government, as well as exposure to a professional working environment. According to the City of Malibu’s website, students will be exposed to a variety of the City’s programs, including: Administrative Services, City Clerk’s Office, Environmental Sustainability, Parks and Recreation, and Planning and Public Works. Interviews will be held Sept. 21 by the City Clerk’s Office for all those whose applications are accepted. Interns will start the following week.

“We really encourage all [students] to apply for the program,” said Deputy City Clerk Heather Glaser, “and they don’t have to be within the city to apply.”

For more information, students can contact Malibu City Clerk Lisa Pope or Deputy City Clerk Heather Glaser at 310-456-2489, ext. 228. A full description of the position and the required skills are also available on the City of Malibu’s website.

“We have had great success in the past and really look forward to having a new year of interns,” said Glaser.
