Clarification: A sentence in the article was changed to clarify the students had a month long session of classes while being granted the freedom on their weekends to attend and experience the Games.
Pepperdine offered students the chance to travel to Paris for the Olympic Games under the 2024 Paris Olympics Program, according to the Pepperdine Community website.
From July 16 through Aug. 7, 22 Pepperdine students stayed in Paris to experience the world of the Olympics in real time, Professor of Communication Sarah Stone Watt said in an email to the Graphic on Aug. 12.
During their month of studies, students had their free time on the weekend to roam the streets of Paris, cheer for our current and former Waves, and witness some of our very own win gold.
These students were given the freedom to travel on their weekends, but most decided to soak up the greatness that is Paris and the Olympic Games. Take a look at what some of your fellow student’s eyes, and cameras, captured during those three event-filled weeks.
