Pepperdine Men’s Golf tackled their third tournament of the season Sept. 28-29 at the Ben Hogen Collegiate Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas. The tournament, presented by Charles Schwab, was held at the Colonial Country Club and hosted 16 teams, with Pepperdine finishing in 13th place.
The Waves finished the tournament 28 over par, two strokes behind 12th place Georgia Institute of Technology and 28 strokes behind the University of Alabama, who took home the win, according to SCOREBOARD.
Round One
With a shotgun tee, the Waves started day one of the tournament at 6:15 a.m. At the end of round one, the Waves sat in last place with a score of 298, just one stroke behind Arizona State University, according to SCOREBOARD.
Freshman Luke Ringkamp and senior Willy Walsh led the Waves in round one with three over par. In his best round, Walsh collected three birdies to end one under par after the first nine holes, according to SCOREBOARD.
With eight bogeys, senior Carson Kim ended the round five above par. Kim ended the round positively with an eagle on hole 18, according to SCOREBOARD.
Freshman Kailer Stone finished seven above par with freshman Ayden Fynaut trailing one stroke behind at eight above. Stone collected three birdies and eight bogeys in this round, while Fynaut scored three birdies and four double bogeys, according to SCOREBOARD.

Round Two
To close out the first day, the Waves jumped up to 14th place with a team score of 584 for the first two rounds. Pepperdine passed Stanford University and Arizona State University to secure the 14th spot, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
Starting the round off strong, Fynaut hit an eagle on the first hole. Using this momentum, he ended even to par for his best round of the tournament and in the top spot for Pepperdine in round two, according to SCOREBOARD.
Kim, Stone and Ringkamp all ended two above par, moving the Waves’ total score to six above par, compared to 18 above in round one, according to SCOREBOARD.
With seven bogeys, Walsh finished seven above par, according to SCOREBOARD.
Round Three
On the second day, the Waves teed off with Walsh beginning at 6:48 a.m. They closed out the invitational in 13th place, shooting four over par in the final round, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
As the only Wave to have a bogey-free round this tournament, Kim matched par at every hole, except for a birdie on hole 11, finishing one under. This performance and his improvement every round (75-72-69) landed him in 26th place overall, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
With four birdies and his best round of the tournament, Stone finished the round even, dropping seven strokes from round one. He ended the tournament in 45th and 9 over par, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
Fynaut also ended nine over par, tying with Stone and four other players, including two Arizona State players, for 45th, according to SCOREBOARD.
Walsh finished four over par, and Ringkamp finished eight over par, according to SCOREBOARD.

Final Results
Ending with 868 strokes and 28 over as a team, the Waves ended 28 strokes behind first-place Alabama and 22 strokes behind second-place Auburn University. The Waves put up a valiant fight against six of the eight teams at the 2026 NCAA Championships, according to Pepperdine Athletics.
To close out their fall season, the Waves will hit the course again Oct. 16-18 at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitation in Alpharetta, Ga.
