Opinion: The Graphic Predicts the 2024 NFL Season (Week 7)

October 20, 2024 by Justin Rodriguez

Week six was all blowouts. Sunday football gave us a whole lot of chaos, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions displayed the most of it.

The Bucs had a commanding 51-27 win over the New Orleans Saints, with quarterback Baker Mayfield tallying 325 yards and four touchdowns. This came after Mayfield committed three turnovers to give the Saints a 24-27 lead going into half, but the Bucs scored 27 points over the last two quarters, holding the Saints scoreless in the process. This brings the Saints’ losing streak to four games after starting the year 2-0.

The most dominant win of week six was the Lions dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys 47-9. The most points the Lions allowed in a quarter was three: three in the first, three in the second, three in the third and absolutely nothing in the fourth. This isn’t the only lopsided loss the Cowboys have suffered this season either, in week two the Saints handed Dallas a 44-19 stomp, also on home soil.

However, in the third quarter, the celebrations were shut down as defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a potential season-ending broken leg trying to sack Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell isn’t completely ruling him out for the season as Hutchinson underwent a successful surgery to repair his fractured tibia and fibula.

Now, let’s take a look at the standings:

Nick – 62 points

Gabrielle – 60 points

Hunter – 57 points

Shane – 55 points

Shalom and Amanda – 53 points

Tony and Nina – 52 points

Justin – 50 points

Jade – 49 points
