Extroverts

  • Outgoing and highly expressive.

  • Energized by social activities.

  • Talk more than you listen and often don’t realize what you have said until it comes out of your mouth.

  • Act before reflecting. Often called impetuous or spontaneous.

  • Tend to talk first, think later.

  • Well-rounded.

  • Know lots of people, count many of them among your “close friends.”

  • Approachable, easily engaged by friends and strangers alike.

  • Find telephone calls to be welcome interruptions in the midst of other important tasks.

  • Like going to parties, prefer to talk with many people not just a few.

  • Become drained if think about something too much without bouncing your thoughts off others.

Introverts

  • Reserved, complicated, private.

  • Self-aware, passionately intense.

  • Solitude replenishes energy

  • Listen more than you talk.

  • Reflect before acting .

  • Rehearse before speaking.

  • Enjoy peace and quiet of having time to yourself.

  • Are perceived as “a great listener.”

  • Have been called “shy” from time to time.

  • Like to share special occasions with just one other person or perhaps a few close friends.

  • Need to “recharge” alone after spending time socializing with a group; the more intense the encounter; the greater the chance of feeling drained afterward.

  • Like stating your thoughts or feelings without interruption; you allow others to do the same and hope that they will.
