To the Editor:
I appreciated the article in the Sept. 22 edition of the Graphic about the unique Vin Scully, unquestionably the greatest baseball announcer of all time. The article reminded me of a conversation that I had with a friend of mine who owned a bookstore in Pacific Palisades where Mr. Scully used to live. I asked my friend if many celebrities came into his store, and he said that not many did, although Scully was there frequently. I asked if Scully bought sports and baseball books, and my friend told me that he was mainly into poetry. Those of us, which include several generations, who grew up listening to him and consider Scully and the Dodgers synonymous are going to miss his poetry.
