As you finish picking out the perfect jack-o’-lanterns for your Halloween get-together, you might want to start looking for a playlist to set the mood. These 10 songs are perfect for dancing with friends or even trick-or-treating.

1. “Thriller” — Michael Jackson

While certainly overplayed, there is an undeniable, dare I say “thrill,” that people have listening to this Halloween favorite. It’s a crowd pleaser and perhaps the only Halloween song that the whole crowd can dance along to with some semblance of unity.

2. “Ghostbusters” — Ray Parker Jr.

Sure, most people only know the line, “Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!” However, this fun, upbeat song is one that will undoubtedly get people dancing. As many have grown up with the classic Halloween movie, most people enjoy the nostalgia of this tune.

3. “Superstition” — Stevie Wonder

Whether familar with the Stevie Wonder version of this song, or if you’re someone who in an honest moment would admit you know it because of Raven Symone’s cover for Disney’s “Haunted Mansion,” this tune is a classic. It plays into the best parts of the holiday including an upbeat, jazzy sound while centering around the supernatural and mysterious.

4. “I Want Candy” — Aaron Carter

While a less conventional Halloween song choice, Carter gets right to the point. It adds a playful feel to any Halloween gathering and is a one everyone can sing along to.

Now with a playlist ready, go and have an awesome Halloween full of candy, friendship and spook-tacular costumes. Search for “Pepperdine Spook-tacular Playlist” on Spotify to find the complete list.
