GRAPHIC ONLINE EXCLUSIVE — Monday, Sept. 12, at 2:45 p.m. Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan are scheduled to host an on-the-record conference call to discuss President Barack Obama’s visit tomorrow to Fort Hayes Arts and Academic High School in Columbus, Ohio.
According to a press release from the White House, the president’s visit is intended to “highlight his American Jobs Act proposal,” which is designed to “put workers back on the job by rebuilding and modernizing schools across the country.”
The implementation of the AJAP requires a $25 billion investment in school infrastructures which would in turn modernize over 35,000 public schools. Such investments are projected to “create jobs while improving classrooms and upgrading our schools to meet 21st century needs.”
