MALIBU, CALIF. — Pepperdine University announced the appointment of Sharon Hargrave as the new director of the Boone Center for the Family on Thursday, according to a Pepperdine University press release. The Boone Center for the Family is an organization established by the university in 1996 as a supportive force to help strengthen and promote healthy families.
Ms. Hargrave is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Texas and California and currently serves at Fuller Theological Seminary where she has been the founder and director of Strong Marriages/Successful Ministries. She also teaches as an adjunct instructor in the Marriage and Family Therapy Department and was in private practice for over 20 years where she specialized in working with couples, families and intergenerational issues.
She travels and speaks with her husband, Dr. Terry Hargrave, who is a professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, both nationally and internationally and their areas of expertise include marriage, forgiveness, aging and care-giving, training marriage and family therapists and working with issues of spiritual and emotional development.
As director of the Boone Center for the Family, Ms. Hargrave will continue her role with Strong Marriages/Successful Ministries.

Ms. Hargrave has a bachelor’s degree from Biola University and a master of arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Tx.
