After a Hawaiian getaway, a captured win and a long break from finals, the Pepperdine Men’s Basketball team is ready to pick up where they left off. Holding the best record since the 2004-05 season, the Waves have been able to pick up great momentum, winning six of their last seven games.
The Waves will look to remain undefeated in Firestone Fieldhouse, as Central Michigan enters the So Cal stadium. The last time these two teams tipped off, the Chippewas were successful, winning 67-57. The CMU team is far different than the one seen last year, however, with only four letterwinners, one starting returner and a new head coach.
Pepperdine will be in need of the consistency they have demonstrated, along with high scoring efforts by sophomore, Jordan Baker and redshirt senior, Lorne Jackson. The Waves’ need for defensive mobility holds the same amount of importance as rookie, Stacy Davis and Jett Raines are known to command the rebound war.
The game takes place Sunday, December 16 at 5pm as the Waves look to improve their record to 7-3.
