Uncharacteristic winter weather has left Washington D.C. in a state of virtual hibernation. Matt Miller resident advisor of Pepperdine’s D.C. program stood in thigh-deep snow to capture these pictures on a 4-and-a-half-hour tour.
There have been between four and five feet of snow in a city that completely shuts down with just six inches. One professor lost power phone and Internet during the storm Miller said. Buses aren’t running and the metro system has been limited to just the underground with only two trains running per hour.
The Pepperdine students in the D.C. internship program have been free from their duties since Friday Miller said. He added that the students have used the time to bond with each other through group dinners hang-out time and plenty of television. Sunday he said the eighth floor watched the Super Bowl while the seventh floor powered through the first season of “Glee.”
