Dance in Flight is a prime example of Pepperdine students’ talent and creativity. Throughout the years students have had the opportunity to express themselves through dance in these annually sold-out performances.
In her first year participating freshman Becca Porter is elated for the audience to see the 2011 production.
“This is my first year in Dance in Flight Porter said. I am performing in Bill’s jazz Katy Malone’s lyrics and Alex Nicandros’ hip-hop.”
Dance in Flight is known for its wide range of dance styles that excite and impress audiences every year.
“[Dance in Flight is] such an awesome opportunity to try new dance styles and maintain my dance skills while I’m at college Porter said.
Auditions are held annually in September, and practices begin in the fall semester for the spring performance. Students who participate dedicate countless hours of time and energy to this production and are ecstatic for the crowds to come and witness their hard work.
Dance in Flight is one fluid show. The program eliminates blackouts during the show, emphasizing the continuity of the performances that keep the audience’s eyes on the dancers at all times. This year’s performance will be unforgettable.
The show this year is not just a show; it’s an experience Porter said.
Dance in Flight shows this Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. with one showing Sunday at 2 p.m. Admission for students is $10.
