WHAT HE DID …
Kleen is batting .259 and has started all seven games for the Waves on the season. In his one appearance so far on the mound, Kleen threw five innings against Nevada, giving up only three hits and two earned runs. Opposing batters are batting only .167 against the lanky freshman, and he’s been sharp with the glove as well. In seven games, Kleen has recorded four putouts with 19 assists and zero errors.His 3.60 ERA leads all starting pitchers on the Waves roster. In the second game against Nevada, Kleen was 3 for 5 with one RBI. He has already been hit by three pitches this year, showing his determination to get on base, no matter what the cost.
Kleen batted over .400 during all four varsity years of baseball at Chaparral High School in Temecula including batting .491 his freshman year.

Kleen chose Pepperdine over Stanford, Cal Berkeley, Arizona and UCLA. He said that the baseball program, academics, beach, weather and women were all major deciding factors in his choice to become a Wave. Sounds like he has his priorities straight. Look for big things out of him in the future.
